The Institute of Geophysical Exploration held a special meeting of the Party Branch Theoretical Study Center (expanded) to study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
On November 4, the Party Branch Committee of the Geophysical Exploration Institute held an expanded theoretical study session in Chengdu to study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. A total of 30 people attended the meeting, including the institute’s leadership team based in Chengdu, all party members, and representatives of those actively seeking party membership. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Guangda, Secretary of the Party Branch Committee, Chairman of the Board, and General Manager of the Geophysical Exploration Institute.
Before the meeting, everyone independently studied the Report to the 20th National Congress of the Party, the Party Constitution (adopted on October 22, 2022), the Resolution of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China on the “Amendment to the Constitution of the Communist Party of China,” and the Work Report submitted by the 19th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
At the meeting, the leadership team of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, secretaries of various Party branches, representatives of Party members, and representatives of those actively aspiring to join the Party enthusiastically shared their insights and experiences on studying the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Everyone unanimously agreed that the report of the 20th National Congress boasts a grand vision and profound implications, deeply inspiring and motivating all of us. In our future study and work, we must continue to study the report comprehensively and from multiple angles through various channels such as news media, books and periodicals, and the “Study the Country” platform, further enhancing our sense of initiative in learning. We should firmly and unswervingly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress both in our thinking and in our actions, maintain strong confidence, forge ahead with courage, and truly integrate the outcomes of our study into our geophysical exploration work.
Finally, Zhang Guangda delivered a speech titled “Studying the 20th National Congress: Embarking on a New Journey.” He emphasized that in studying the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Party, it is crucial to closely integrate theory with practice, put what we learn into action, and earnestly implement it across four key areas.
First, we must uphold political principles and hold firm convictions, becoming qualified Communist Party members. We should firmly keep in mind the “Two Establishments,” strengthen our “Four Consciousnesses,” solidify our “Four Confidences,” and ensure “Two Upholds.” We must intensify our political study, elevate our political awareness, and focus on enhancing our political capabilities.
Second, we must implement the strategy of high-quality development and open up a new chapter in economic growth. We must uphold the principle that economic development is the top priority, strengthen and expand our advantageous sectors, and vigorously advance soil and water conservation efforts as well as green new-energy projects, thereby fostering a harmonious environment conducive to high-quality exploration. We should take the development of enterprises and the betterment of employees’ livelihoods as our driving force, and strive toward common prosperity.
Third, we must strengthen our work style and set exemplary standards; strict governance of the Party is an ongoing journey. We must uphold a tone of strictness, set positive role models, and push forward in depth the comprehensive and strict governance of the Party, the building of a clean and honest government, and the fight against corruption.
Fourth, we must uphold the Party’s overall leadership and effectively implement principal responsibility. We must adhere to the principle of democratic centralism, fulfill the requirement of “dual responsibility for each post,” and ensure that the Party’s absolute leadership is consistently upheld.
He put forward four requirements for the work over the next five years.
First, economic indicators are steadily rising, enhancing employees’ sense of well-being. We will continue to strengthen Party leadership in a comprehensive manner, proactively integrate into Sichuan’s new development paradigm for resources, and make every effort to deliver on the “second half” of the reform of geological exploration units. We will ensure that employee incomes grow in tandem with corporate profitability, achieving win-win outcomes for both the enterprise and its employees.
Second, we must strengthen the development of our talent pool and promote scientific and technological innovation with high quality. We need to bolster the building of an innovative talent team, intensify efforts to overcome bottlenecks in key technologies, and resolutely win the battle to master critical core technologies, thereby providing robust support and guarantees for high-quality exploration.
Third, we must provide the right guidance and foster team development, building a high-quality workforce to stringent standards. We will adhere to the principles of Party leadership over cadres and talent management, continuously strengthen leadership team building, and, at the same time, tailor our efforts to actual conditions to accelerate the development of competitive advantages in our talent resources. We will strive to build a highly qualified talent pool that meets the needs of the Geophysical Exploration Institute’s high-quality development.
Fourth, we must focus on mastering core technologies, strengthening scientific and technological efforts, and safeguarding the company’s brand. The Geophysical Exploration Institute should develop high-quality, flagship projects that enhance the company’s core competitiveness, pursue a development path that balances quality with scale, boost profitability, and strengthen overall strength.
The 20th National Congress has concluded successfully. In our future work, all Party members and cadres of the Geophysical Exploration Institute will continue to earnestly study the new ideas, new judgments, new goals, and new initiatives put forward at the 20th National Congress. We will diligently study the Party Constitution and consciously align our thinking and actions with the spirit of the 20th National Congress. With the tenacity and determination of “one part planning, nine parts implementation,” we will unswervingly carry out Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in all aspects and throughout the entire process of geophysical exploration. We will strengthen Party building as the guiding force, solidify political loyalty, focus on central tasks, bravely take responsibility and act decisively, and strive to write a new chapter of high-quality development for Sichuan’s resource exploration in the new era.
