On January 6, 2023, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration held a special meeting on rectifying issues identified through investigative supervision of Party conduct and integrity building and anti-corruption efforts. The meeting was chaired by Zou Zhongping, Deputy Secretary of the Institute’s Party Branch Committee, Member of the Discipline Inspection Commission, and Chairman of the Trade Union. Members of the Institute’s Party Branch Committee, members of the leading team, heads of administrative departments, and representatives of Party members attended the meeting.

At the meeting, disciplinary inspector Xie Mingxi thoroughly conveyed the spirit and requirements of the following documents issued by the Party Committee of the Group and the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team stationed at the Group: the “Notification on Investigative Supervision of Integrity Building and Anti-Corruption Efforts,” the “Notification on Two Typical Cases of Violations of the Spirit of the Central Government’s Eight-Point Regulation,” and the “Notice on Effectively Addressing the ‘Four Winds’ and Promoting New Norms During the New Year’s Day and Spring Festival Periods.” Zhou Huiying, head of the Party and Mass Work Department, reiterated and explained the key points of the regulations governing expense reimbursement, official hospitality, and business receptions within the Group and the Geophysical Exploration Institute.

At the meeting, Zou Zhongping made arrangements and gave instructions on addressing the issues identified through investigative supervision of Party conduct and integrity building as well as anti-corruption efforts. He emphasized that feedback comments and the list of identified problems must be taken seriously, with each item thoroughly analyzed to ascertain the status—both completed and ongoing—of corrective actions taken. He called for a high degree of political awareness and proactive action to draw broader lessons from these findings and ensure that all corrective measures are implemented rigorously and without compromise.

Zhang Guangda, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Institute, Chairman of the Board, and General Manager, attaches great importance to the rectification of identified issues. He emphasized:

First, we must elevate our political awareness and attach great importance to this from a ideological perspective. It is imperative that we accurately grasp the spirit of the document and deeply understand the significance of addressing feedback issues through rectification and conducting self-inspection and self-correction in light of common problems. We must carry out the rectification and self-inspection work meticulously and with high quality, ensuring that we neither cover up nor evade any issues.

Second, we must strengthen publicity and implementation, and continue to exert sustained efforts in improving work styles. We need to further enhance the enforcement of systems related to expense reimbursement, business hospitality, project management, and other areas. We should place great emphasis on the seamless integration of internal audits and disciplinary inspection oversight, combining rectification efforts with strict discipline and style building. We must adopt the most pragmatic approach to carry out rectifications, ensuring that identified issues are thoroughly addressed and that style improvements are effectively implemented. Moreover, we should integrate rectification efforts with the establishment of long-term, normalized mechanisms.

Third, we must draw inferences from one instance to address similar issues and proactively prevent risks at the source. We should conduct self-inspections and self-corrections by comparing them with common problems, thoroughly extending our efforts beyond individual cases. We must consistently place discipline and rules at the forefront, target our investigations precisely, avoid being content with superficial appearances, delve into underlying issues, carefully analyze and study their root causes, further refine corrective measures, and efficiently advance the implementation of these corrections.
