On June 26, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration convened its first joint meeting of 2026 on Party conduct and integrity building and anti-corruption efforts. The meeting was chaired by Xia Jing, a member of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, with attendance from heads of all functional departments and relevant staff members.

The meeting conducted an in-depth study of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thought on Party building, conveyed the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the Fifth Plenary Session of the 12th Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection, and focused on reviewing the Group Party Committee’s “Implementation Opinions on Advancing Comprehensive and Strict Party Governance, Building a Clean and Honest Government, and Combating Corruption in 2026.” During the meeting, the various functional departments reported risks and potential hazards identified through supervision and inspection within their respective areas of responsibility. In particular, they discussed implementation plans for two special oversight initiatives—project subcontracting and official hospitality—and deliberated measures to establish a normalized, comprehensive “grand supervision” system.

The meeting noted that it marks a pivotal step in the company’s efforts to establish its “comprehensive oversight” system.

The meeting emphasized the need to further elevate political awareness, clarify the positioning of supervisory responsibilities, and firmly uphold the principle that “compliant operations are the greatest political achievement.” Business units must earnestly assume their role as the “first line of defense” in oversight, implementing the requirement that “managing business entails managing oversight.” Meanwhile, the Commission for Discipline Inspection should precisely fulfill its specialized function of “supervising supervision,” ensuring that all responsible entities perform their duties conscientiously. Only through clear division of responsibilities and concerted efforts can we truly establish a comprehensive, integrated, and highly coordinated “grand oversight” framework.

The meeting called for: First, to remain problem‑oriented and carry out targeted rectification. We will earnestly advance the follow‑up on inspection and audit findings, focusing special oversight on areas such as subcontracted projects and business hospitality, while simultaneously standardizing the management of seals, contracts, and funds, and addressing each identified weakness in our management systems. Second, to strengthen coordination and synergy, and establish long‑term mechanisms. Using joint meetings as a key platform for “comprehensive oversight,” we will hold quarterly consultations and set up channels for the two‑way referral of leads and the sharing of supervisory information. We will ensure that problem‑solving and institutional improvement are advanced in tandem, balancing immediate corrective actions with the establishment of enduring systems, and cultivating foundational work that yields lasting benefits. Moreover, we will fully leverage the outcomes of oversight to ensure that all forms of supervision operate in concert and reinforce one another.

The meeting called on all functional departments to take this occasion as an opportunity to further consolidate oversight resources, institutionalize measures to prevent integrity risks, and continuously foster a clean and upright environment conducive to work and entrepreneurship, thereby providing robust oversight to support the company’s high-quality development.
