The Institute of Geophysical Exploration Holds a Warning and Education Conference on Violations in Business and Enterprise Operations.
To further advance the comprehensive and strict governance of the Party, strengthen all staff members’ awareness of integrity in their professional conduct, and effectively reinforce the disciplinary defense line, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration held an educational warning meeting on violations involving engaging in business or running enterprises on October 22. The meeting was chaired by Zou Zhongping, Deputy Secretary of the Institute’s Party Committee, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, and Chairman of the Trade Union, who also delivered a collective reminder talk on integrity. All Party members and mid-level or higher-ranking cadres based in Chengdu attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Zou Zhongping led the study of several disciplinary and legal provisions, including the “Several Provisions on Integrity in the Conduct of Leaders in State-Owned Enterprises” and the “Regulations on Disciplinary Actions of the Communist Party of China.” Through two typical cases, he thoroughly analyzed the serious harm that violating regulations by engaging in business or running enterprises can inflict on an individual’s career development, family happiness and stability, and the future prospects of enterprise development. He urged everyone to learn from these cases, take them as warnings, clearly understand the disciplinary “red lines,” distinguish between what is “permissible” and what is “prohibited,” and strengthen their awareness of compliance and adherence to laws and discipline.
Meeting Requirements
First, regular self-inspections and self-corrections will be conducted. Those who identify problems during self-inspections, proactively report them, and actively take corrective actions may receive lighter or no disciplinary measures. However, those who conceal issues and harbor侥幸 (a hope of getting away with it) will be held strictly accountable once the facts are verified.
Second, we must resolutely ensure that the issues are promptly rectified. The personnel involved must promptly divest themselves of any illegally held shares in enterprises and, upon completion, submit relevant documentation proving the rectification efforts to ensure that the remediation is effective.
Third, we will strengthen supervision and accountability by establishing a “normalized supervision mechanism,” intensifying efforts to identify and address violations involving engaging in business or running enterprises in violation of regulations, and thus laying a solid foundation for fostering a clean and upright environment conducive to work and entrepreneurship.
Through this warning and education conference on violations involving business activities and enterprise establishment, the Party members and leading cadres throughout the institute have genuinely enhanced their ideological and behavioral awareness of performing their duties in strict accordance with laws and regulations, strengthened their awareness of the rule of law and adherence to rules and norms, and thus achieved the intended purpose of warning and education.
