The Institute of Geophysical Exploration and the Institute of Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, held an exchange and discussion meeting.
On July 24, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration held an exchange and discussion meeting with the Institute of Geophysics and Geochemistry Exploration of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences (hereinafter referred to as “IGGE”).
At the symposium, both sides introduced their respective organizations’ basic information, business areas, scientific and technological innovation achievements, and future development plans. They engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions on topics such as the innovative application of geophysical exploration technologies and the construction of a pilot platform for geophysical surveys, and reached a consensus on further strengthening cooperation in scientific research and practical applications.

The country is vigorously advancing a new round of strategic actions aimed at achieving breakthroughs in mineral exploration and continuously strengthening basic geological surveys and mineral resource exploration efforts. Both sides unanimously agree that geophysical exploration technology, as a key tool in today’s geological and mineral exploration field, boasts vast room for development and promising application prospects. Both sides will fully leverage their respective strengths in technology, equipment, and other areas to engage in in-depth cooperation across the following aspects: First, jointly apply for national and provincial/ministerial-level scientific research projects, collaboratively tackle critical technological challenges, and enhance the level of geophysical exploration technology; second, strengthen cooperation in the construction of pilot platforms for geophysical exploration, promote open sharing of resources, and provide robust support for the research, development, and dissemination of new technologies and methods; third, establish a regular communication and coordination mechanism, regularly exchange information on cooperation progress, promptly address issues encountered during collaboration, and ensure that the cooperation yields tangible results.
This exchange and symposium has established a solid cooperation platform between the Institute of Geophysical Exploration and the Institute of Geochemical and Geophysical Exploration, ushering in a new chapter of joint advancement and mutual benefit for both sides. Taking this opportunity as a starting point, both parties will continue to expand their areas of collaboration, deepen the content of their cooperation, and jointly contribute to advancing technological progress and innovative development in China’s geophysical exploration industry. They will also provide stronger technical support for safeguarding national energy and resource security and promoting ecological civilization.

Yu Changheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration; Gu Zhiwen, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager; Zhang Qiang, Director of the Comprehensive Geophysical Research Laboratory at the Institute of Geochemical and Geophysical Exploration; Li Jianhua, Deputy Director of the Electromagnetic Detection Research Laboratory; as well as heads of relevant departments and technical backbones from both sides, attended the meeting.
