On July 1, General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the rally celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. As a Party member, I listened to the General Secretary’s important speech via online livestream and felt deeply moved, as well as immensely proud and honored.

General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech is rich in content. Grounded in the significant milestone of the Communist Party of China’s centenary and the pivotal juncture at the intersection of the “Two Centennials,” it comprehensively reviews the Communist Party of China’s century-long journey of struggle and looks forward to a bright future of continued endeavor toward the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Through the General Secretary’s important speech, I have come to realize that, as young Communist Party members, we must vigorously carry forward the great spirit of the Party’s founding—remaining loyal to the Party, serving the people wholeheartedly, upholding truth, holding fast to our ideals, staying true to our original aspirations, keeping our mission firmly in mind, working diligently and striving for innovation, and becoming worthy successors.

Based on my own work, I have the following three insights:

First, transform what you’ve learned into an inexhaustible driving force for your work. Continue to uphold our glorious traditions, stay grounded in your current job, and start with the tasks right in front of you—beginning with small, everyday actions at work. These could range from meticulously sorting and recording every report that needs to be filed, to diligently safeguarding each of the company’s patents and software copyrights, or even carefully organizing the supporting documents required for various awards you’re nominated for. Sharpen your skills through small, incremental improvements; hone your abilities by paying attention to the smallest details; learn from those who are advanced within the company; and remain down-to-earth, demonstrating responsibility and commitment in your daily role.

Second, as Communist Party members belonging to the younger generation, we should even more so maintain vigorous energy and exuberant spirit, shoulder our responsibilities with determination, and tackle our tasks with practicality and diligence. We must remain focused and down-to-earth, living up to the times and fulfilling our mission. On our ordinary posts, we should strive to achieve extraordinary accomplishments and successfully navigate the Long March that falls to our generation.

Third, at all times and under all circumstances, maintain high ideological, political, and practical alignment with the Party Central Committee. Always keep a sense of self-discipline, constantly reflect on the dangers of greed, and consistently reject improper desires. Uphold strict self-restraint at all times, knowing when to stop and acting with caution. Be meticulous in your words and deeds, conduct yourself with integrity, and live with openness and honesty. Consciously purify your circles of friends, daily life, and social interactions, keeping them spotless and imbued with upright character.

The above is my personal reflection and insight. I hope I can lead by example, always keep my original aspiration in mind, and put the oath I took upon joining the Party into practice through concrete actions.

On July 1, 2021, a grand rally celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China was held in Tiananmen Square. General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech, profoundly summarizing the Party’s century-long glorious journey and its historic contributions, and powerfully demonstrating that the Communist Party of China truly deserves to be hailed as a great, glorious, and correct party.

The Communist Party of China has led the entire nation to achieve tremendous historical accomplishments and accomplished a great leap forward beyond imagination. It has profoundly altered the direction and course of the Chinese nation’s development since modern times, profoundly reshaped the future and destiny of the Chinese people and the Chinese nation, and profoundly transformed the trends and global landscape of world development. Facts fully demonstrate that only the Communist Party of China is capable of leading the Chinese people to achieve national independence and national prosperity—a conclusion that is irrefutable in China’s history since 1840.

To become a full member of the Communist Party of China at this momentous centenary milestone fills me with profound excitement. Witnessing China’s continuous strength and prosperity under the leadership of the Communist Party, I am confident that, under the Party’s guidance, the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation will surely come to fruition. I pledge to do my utmost, dedicating myself wholeheartedly to the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. Staying true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind, I will work diligently, forge ahead bravely, and live up to the Party organization’s nurturing and high expectations placed upon me.

In his speech, General Secretary Xi Jinping said: “The future belongs to the youth, and hope rests with them. Young people in China’s new era must take the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation as their own responsibility, strengthen their ambition, integrity, and confidence as Chinese people, and live up to the times, cherish their youthful years, and live up to the earnest expectations of the Party and the people!” These words deeply resonated with me. Looking back, I’ve poured my youth into the beautiful landscapes of our motherland—my footprints have left their mark on the towering mountains of Changning, and my presence has lingered among the majestic snow-capped peaks of Kangding. As a young geophysical exploration worker, I’ve traveled far and wide across the country, traversing countless miles of rivers and mountains, all in order to contribute my small spark to the grand cause of kindling the flame of the Chinese nation’s rejuvenation across the entire land of our motherland. Moving forward, I will continue to dedicate my youth to the cause of geophysical exploration, braving any hardship, forging ahead with courage, staying true to my original aspiration, and living up to the precious years of my youth.

From General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech, I’ve come to a deeper understanding that, if I want to fulfill my promise and become a young Chinese person of the new era, I must do the following:

First, we must strengthen our theoretical study, arm ourselves with advanced ideas, and continuously strive for intellectual progress so that we can guide our actions effectively. Specifically, we should read more Party-related books and make good use of learning platforms such as the “Study Strong Nation” app. Even in the field, we must never let our guard down. Second, we should take the lead from exemplary Party members around us, using them as a mirror to identify our own shortcomings. We should learn from their outstanding work styles, lifestyles, and ideological spirits, thereby addressing our own weaknesses. Third, we must enhance our professional capabilities by reading more technical journals, staying abreast of cutting-edge geophysical exploration techniques, and continually updating our knowledge. We should closely link this learning to our actual work, optimize our working methods, actively try out new technologies, engage in extensive hands-on practice, foster innovation, steadily build up our technical expertise, and establish a competitive edge in the industry. Finally, we must constantly remind ourselves not to waste this era or our youthful years. We must never become complacent about past achievements, nor afford ourselves any slack. Instead, we must remain steadfast in pursuing excellence and strengthening our work in the field of geophysical exploration.

On the occasion of our centenary, I have officially been admitted as a full member of the Communist Party of China. This is not only a great fortune but also a profound mission. I will surely remain true to my original aspiration, forge ahead with courage and determination, and under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, strive relentlessly toward a brighter and more prosperous future for our motherland!

The century-long history of the Communist Party of China can be divided into four stages: 28 years of arduous struggle and unyielding perseverance, during which the Party achieved national independence and people’s liberation; 29 years of self-reliance and vigorous striving, as the Party explored social transformation and institutional development; 34 years of emancipating minds and forging ahead with determination, marking a great turning point and historic breakthrough; and 9 years of confidence, self-reliance, upholding core principles while fostering innovation, thus advancing the great cause and realizing the great dream.

The century-long history flows endlessly, and its spirit is passed down from generation to generation. We must remember our history, learn from it, use it to illuminate the present and gaze into the future, remain true to our original aspirations and mission, and forge a bright future. In his speech marking the centenary of the founding of the Party, General Secretary Xi Jinping mentioned “learning from history and forging the future” nine times, and outlined nine key principles that point the way forward for the Communist Party of China: We must uphold the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China; we must unite and lead the Chinese people in their relentless pursuit of a better life; we must continue advancing the sinicization of Marxism; we must uphold and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics; we must accelerate the modernization of national defense and the armed forces; we must constantly promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind; we must engage in great struggles characterized by many new historical features; we must strengthen the great unity of all Chinese sons and daughters; and we must continuously advance the new great project of Party building.

Deeply understanding and putting into practice the “Nine Musts” is a fundamental requirement for us Party members. In light of this, I have, based on my own actual situation, identified nine specific actions that I should take in alignment with the Nine Musts: I should uphold and support the leadership of the Communist Party of China, strengthen the four consciousnesses, firmly uphold the four self-confidences, and ensure the two safeguards; I should cherish and aspire to a better life, and strive diligently to achieve it; I should intensify my theoretical study, especially deepening my understanding of the Sinicization of Marxism; I should enhance my practical learning, applying what I’ve learned to understand socialism with Chinese characteristics in light of my own experiences; I should continuously update my professional knowledge system and equip myself with advanced technical expertise; I should strengthen teamwork and mutual benefit, building a community of colleagues working together harmoniously; I should cultivate a strong sense of innovation, possessing the courage and capability to embrace new challenges; I should be friendly and cooperative with neighbors and colleagues, maintaining harmonious relationships with family, coworkers, and friends; and I should learn from the advanced and the outstanding, playing an active role in the grassroots Party organizations—their very bastions of struggle.

Two centuries lie ahead—though the road is long and fraught with challenges. Nine imperatives uphold our unwavering ideals. With the “Five-in-One” approach, we’ve laid out a well-planned blueprint; the “Four Comprehensive Strategies” point us clearly toward our goal. Under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, I will remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind, dedicating my own efforts to realizing the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation!

General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech boasts a broad vision that seamlessly connects history, the present, and the future. It exemplifies the grandeur and magnanimity of a Marxist statesman, reflecting a strong sense of historical responsibility and a passionate commitment to serving the people. This speech possesses remarkable power to transcend time and space, compelling theoretical persuasiveness, and deeply resonating with the heart. After listening to it, one feels invigorated, strengthened in resolve, and bolstered in confidence. It is a brilliant Marxist document—a scientific program and an action guide that will lead us forward on our new journey.

Over the past century, the great path forged and the great cause created—and the remarkable achievements attained—by the Communist Party of China in leading the people represent the most magnificent epic in the millennia-long history of the Chinese nation. They constitute the most dramatic and gripping chapter in the annals of the Chinese nation’s history.

From the 13 members who attended the First National Congress, the Communist Party of China has grown into a massive party with over 91.91 million members. After 28 years of arduous and extraordinary revolutionary struggles, it established New China and has led the Chinese people from standing up to becoming prosperous and then strong—all thanks to its firm ideals and convictions.

The breathtaking live broadcast—and listening to and reading General Secretary Xi Jinping’s inspiring, powerful, and uplifting speech marking the centenary of the founding of the Party—was truly exhilarating, filling one with patriotic fervor, boosting morale, and instilling a sense of pride and resilience.

By studying the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech at the rally marking the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party, I’ve come to realize that as a Party member, I must clearly understand the new situation, new tasks, and new requirements; continuously strengthen my sense of responsibility and mission; remain firm in my ideals and convictions; heed the Party’s words, be grateful for the Party’s kindness, and follow the Party’s lead—always remaining loyal to the Party and loyal to its cause. We must firmly keep in mind our original aspiration and mission, as well as the fundamental principle of serving the people wholeheartedly, and strive tirelessly to meet the people’s growing needs for a better life.

As a Party member, we must have a clear understanding of matters of national importance, consciously put into practice Xi Jinping’s Thought on Ecological Civilization, maintain strategic resolve in strengthening ecological civilization, firmly uphold the concept that lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, and promote integrated governance of the entire ecosystem—including mountains, rivers, forests, farmland, lakes, grasslands, and deserts. We should strive to build a modern society where humanity and nature coexist harmoniously, and make new contributions to achieving the Second Centenary Goal and realizing the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
