The Institute of Geophysical Exploration and China Electric Engineering Corporation Urban Planning & Design Research Institute Co., Ltd.: Ushering in a New Chapter of Strategic Cooperation
On October 21, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration and China Electric Engineering Corporation Urban Planning & Design Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Urban Institute”) signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Chengdu. Sun Dadong, Chairman of the Urban Institute, led a delegation to the signing ceremony, joined by Zhang Guangda, Secretary of the Party Branch and Chairman of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration. Chang Zuping, Deputy General Manager of the Urban Institute, and Yu Changheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch and General Manager of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration, signed the strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

According to the agreement, both parties will adhere to the cooperation principles of “market-driven, complementary advantages, equal partnership, and compliance with laws and regulations,” establish a dedicated liaison mechanism, and, building on their previous positive collaboration, continue to engage in in-depth cooperation in areas such as water conservancy and hydropower, new energy, water environment, and urbanization. Together, they will jointly promote resource acquisition and development and construction efforts, thereby achieving high-quality development for both sides.
After visiting the Institute of Geophysical Exploration’s Science and Technology Innovation Studio, both sides engaged in an in-depth discussion on the feasibility, prospects, and pathways for cooperation across multiple fields, including water conservancy and hydropower, the formulation of industry standards, research projects, and brand enhancement. Together, they envisioned future opportunities for collaboration in key technological breakthroughs and the commercialization of innovative achievements.
The Urban Institute is a high-end brand established by China Electric Engineering Corporation to support the high-quality planning and development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into a world-class urban agglomeration. For many years, the institute has been deeply engaged in urbanization development, new energy exploration, and water resources and environmental protection within the Greater Bay Area.
Where distant paths bring us together, we join hands to write a new chapter through joint efforts in Wanrong. This collaboration represents a concrete step taken by the Geophysical Exploration Institute to deepen its “Three-Pronged Development” and put into practice the principle of “shifting mindsets and enhancing market awareness.” Taking the signing of this agreement as an opportunity, both parties will fully leverage their respective regional advantages in a complementary manner, integrate resources, share channels, and build synergies.
