The Institute of Geophysical Exploration held a celebration marking the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and a commendation conference for “July 1st.”

On June 30, just ahead of the Party’s birthday, the Party Branch Committee of the Geophysical Exploration Institute held a celebration meeting to commemorate the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and to honor outstanding Party members on “July 1.” Attending the meeting were the leadership team of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, members of the Party Branch Committee, mid-level cadres, and all Party members based in Chengdu. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Guangda, Secretary of the Party Branch Committee, Chairman of the Board, and General Manager of the Geophysical Exploration Institute.

At the meeting, Zou Zhongping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch Committee of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, Member of the Discipline Inspection Commission, and Chairman of the Trade Union, read out the "Notice on Commending Outstanding Communist Party Members, Outstanding Party Workers, and Advanced Grassroots Party Organizations for 2021." The representatives honored as part of the "Two Excellences and One Pioneer" then took to the stage one by one to receive their awards.

To further boost the work morale of Party members and cadres and encourage them to embark on the second half of the year with a new outlook and a renewed sense of responsibility, at the meeting, Comrade Zhang Guangda delivered a vivid Party lesson titled “Be Grateful and Strive Forward, Take Responsibility and Work Diligently—Effortfully Pioneering a New Journey and Writing a New Chapter for the Institute’s Development.” During the lesson, he reviewed together with everyone the Institute of Geophysical Exploration’s journey of striving forward since the 19th National Congress of the CPC and highlighted its major achievements. He urged all Party members and cadres to closely focus on the central theme of fully implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s earnest instructions in the cause of geophysical exploration, organically integrating the study and implementation of the spirit of the 12th Provincial Party Congress with the healthy and sustainable development of their respective units, and thus embarking on a new journey toward high-quality development of geophysical exploration.

Zhang Guangda emphasized that the next five years represent a crucial period for fully implementing the 14th Five-Year Plan, as well as a pivotal five-year period for the Geophysical Exploration Institute to fully integrate into and exert its full strength within the Group. We must place particular emphasis on the following seven areas:

First, we must keep the bigger picture in mind and deeply grasp the essence of the guiding principles. We should steadfastly implement the series of important instructions delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping as well as the spirit of the 12th Provincial Party Congress, placing geophysical exploration work within the broader context and demonstrating with concrete actions our firm commitment to upholding the “Two Establishments” and resolutely practicing the “Two Safeguards.”

Second, we must focus on diligent and practical work to consolidate our core business strengths. By concentrating on key tasks and reinforcing our leading position in geophysical exploration, we should seize the new opportunities and requirements presented by the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle and demonstrate even greater achievements.

Third, we will lead by example and jointly build a spiritual civilization. We will fully leverage the leading and driving role of Party members from the “Geophysical Exploration Iron Army” as well as the vanguard and exemplary fortress role of Party branches.

Fourth, deepen reform and boost development momentum. We must comprehensively benchmark against the state-owned enterprise reform initiatives, vigorously strengthen team building, and continuously enhance our qualities and capabilities.

Fifth, strengthen Party building to guide the direction of development. Solidly promote the deep integration of Party building with business operations, and effectively carry out work related to Party member recruitment, training, and mass organization activities.

Sixth, we must uphold the bottom line and strengthen our sense of responsibility. We should intensify efforts to build a clean and honest Party atmosphere, place discipline and rules at the forefront, and provide robust safeguards for the high-quality development of geophysical exploration work.

Seventh, we will refine our corporate culture and carry forward the spirit of struggle. We’ll distill and summarize our corporate culture, step up publicity efforts, tell compelling stories about geophysical exploration, and enrich the spirit of geophysical exploration.

Zhang Guangda called on all Party members to take the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Party as an opportunity to deeply study the important instructions delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection tour of Sichuan Province and the spirit of the 12th Provincial Party Congress, ensuring that they truly grasp these ideas thoroughly and integrate them seamlessly into their work. They should identify key areas of convergence and focus, incorporate the spirit of the Party Congress into all priority tasks, and wholeheartedly write a new chapter of high-quality development for the Geophysical Exploration Institute, using practical actions and tangible achievements to warmly welcome the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
