On July 3, Zhang Guangda, Secretary of the Party Branch, Chairman, and General Manager of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, led a team to Xilinhot City, Inner Mongolia, to inspect the progress of the holographic electromagnetic method residual oil exploration pilot project. He also warmly visited and comforted the frontline workers, offering them cool refreshments and heartfelt care.

Zhang Guangda and his delegation first visited the project headquarters, where they listened to a briefing from the project leader on the progress of the project. They paid particular attention to the project’s equipment, personnel, and safety management measures, and also carefully examined the collected data and documentation. Zhang Guangda emphasized that the quality of raw data collection in the field is of paramount importance in geophysical exploration—it forms the foundation and guarantee for successfully completing geophysical projects—and stressed the need to ensure both high quality and sufficient quantity in data acquisition.

Next, we arrived at the construction site and inspected, separately, the workflow of the holographic electromagnetic method and the operational procedures for data acquisition. Zhang Guangda emphasized that “safety” must be given top priority at the construction site. Safe production is a red line and bottom line that must be strictly adhered to. Field workers must attach great importance to safety in their thinking, keep the string of safe production taut at all times, and firmly uphold their responsibility for safe production.

After the inspection concluded, Zhang Guangda and his delegation held discussions with the owner unit and Professor Dai Shikun’s team from Central South University regarding the project’s key technological攻关 experiments. They clarified the current status of oil production and the remaining oil reserves in the Ji32 block, exchanged views on the on-site experimental plan, and reached a consensus. Together, they will collaborate closely and make every effort to advance the攻关 experiments, thereby providing strong support for increasing oil reserves and boosting production at the oilfield.

Zhang Guangda stated that geophysical exploration work should not only be project-based but also transcend the boundaries of individual projects. By adopting innovative thinking and a professional attitude, and by anticipating and addressing the needs of clients promptly, we can provide them with more efficient and higher-quality technical services.
